Job Description
The Water Controller is responsible for:
• Managing the release of water to the irrigation system and the delivery to farms safely and efficiently.
• Reviewing orders and planning the delivery through Harvey Water’s open channel network.
• Maintain communication with irrigators via telephone, email contact, face-to-face etc.
• Enter data efficiently and accurately into the various software – Harvey Water will provide training on how to operate this software.
• Performing network routine maintenance such as chainsawing, weed control, clearing trash racks and minor concrete works.
• Reporting issues on the network that require maintenance.
Skills and Attributes
This role requires:
• A current C Class licence.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail.
• A positive attitude to safety.
• Able to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• Time management skills.
• Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in farming is advantageous.
Location
The position is based in our irrigation district, which runs between Benger and Dardanup. The Harvey Water office is located in Harvey, but this role is best suited for those candidates living in or within close proximity of the irrigation area.
