Job Description
The position entails a range of tasks, such as:
- Liaise with client to ensure adequate water volumes are being produced to meet demands
- Ensure raw water supply planning - understand the pipe route from dam/bore and verify the integrity of the route and liaise with Works Manager for any maintenance requirements
- Responsible for trend tracking and monitoring water quality - Record daily operations and identify and execute any remedial action
- Follow the water sampling program - Conduct field water analysis and report to Client environmental engineer and Technical Services
- Ensure the plant operates with set parameters
- Report maintenance/operational issues-fault find
- Forecast plant maintenance, liaise with maintenance technicians
- Report/Log daily, monthly, quarterly and yearly plant inspection
- Conduct preventative maintenance activities
- Forecast and order chemical usage
- Operate pumps, valves and control the water flow/quantities
- Manage brine removal
- Ensure compliance with Australian Drinking Water Guidelines
- Ensure compliance with Client contractual arrangements
Skills and Attributes
This role requires:
- A valid driver’s licence
- High safety and housekeeping standards
- Able to work autonomously and/or in a team environment
- Current White Card
- Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment
- Proficient in poly welding preferred
- Mining industry experience preferred
- General mechanical understanding and problem solving
- Excellent communication and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to undertake a pre-employment medical
